Notes: All students will have the opportunity to specialise in one of the following subjects: Art, English, Geography, History, Information Technology, Mathematics, Music, Physical Education, Religious Education, Science, Technology, Welsh, Welsh as a Second Language.
- BA Cymraeg (Secondary) QTS
This programme was created in response to the rising demand for Welsh and Welsh Second Language in the secondary sector in Wales. Although it is a degree in Welsh, the focus will be on the teaching side and the way in which Welsh is taught successfully in the secondary sector today. The programme will enable you to gain a degree in Welsh with Qualified Teacher Status within three years.

Trinity
College, Carmarthen is one of the most experienced institutions in Wales for Initial Teacher Training. The
Faculty of Education and Training is acknowledged as a national centre for the development and training of bilingual teachers and is the main provider of Welsh medium primary teachers in South Wales. Estyn’s report on Standards and Quality in Initial Teacher Training has confirmed that the College continues to provide teacher training courses that rank among the best in Wales.
Employment statistics for graduates is extremely encouraging with nearly all primary and secondary trainees having secured teaching posts within six months of completing their training.
The College works in partnership with over 250 primary schools and 45 Secondary Schools in South Wales.
Trinity contributes to the National Assembly for Wales’ agenda in the areas of early years education, bilingualism and continuing professional development. The College is committed to supporting the professional development of trainees and qualified teachers and offers a range of courses in Special Needs Education, Early Years Education, Management, Environmental Education and Professional Teaching Studies.
